About Just R
An independent app for people who learn words every day and want to stop forgetting them a week later.

Why Just R exists
Most people who learn a language know the feeling: you write down twenty new words on Monday, and by Friday half of them are gone. Rereading the list doesn’t help much. What helps is trying to recall each word, and doing it again just as you are about to forget it.
Paper flashcards can do the first part. The second part, knowing when to repeat, is what an app is good at. Just R started in 2021 as a simple tool to make your own cards and get a reminder at the right moment, following the intervals of the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve. The name comes from that loop: Just Read, Repeat, Remember.
Since then it has grown with the people using it: five card types, speaking cards that read a deck aloud, dictation, ready-made decks of idioms and phrasal verbs, widgets, CSV import, sync between devices and optional AI images, voice and context.
What we believe
- Your words, your decks. The best vocabulary to learn is the one you meet in your own life. Just R is built for making your own cards quickly, in any language.
- Repeat on time, not more often. Spaced repetition does the scheduling, so a few minutes a day is enough.
- Say what it doesn’t do. Just R doesn’t promise fluency in a month, doesn’t run on Android and shows ads in the free version. We would rather you know before you install.
- Be clear about data. Sync, analytics, ads and AI features all involve sending data, and the privacy policy says exactly what, to whom and how to turn it off.
Who makes it
Just R is designed and developed by an independent iOS developer in Ukraine. There is no big company behind it: every feature, reply to a support email and guide on this site comes from the person who builds the app.
The app is available in English, Ukrainian, Russian, German and Spanish, and this website in English, Ukrainian and Russian.
